Multi QB Installation



There are a lot of pins and it is vital that you don't bend any. You should remove the Qbert main and sound boards and take them to a well lit table to work on. You will need to double check the pins are lined up where they need to be before you apply pressure to push them in. The pins are installed in a qbert board during assembly so they should line up well.

QBERT LOGIC BOARD:

Main Multi Qbert Board:
Remove the eproms at ROM0,1,2,3. ROM 4 and RAM 5 should already be empty. You'll notice one full set of pins on the Main Adapter. Those pins go to ROM 2. It looks a little odd, but it means that ROM 4 has no pins plugged in, and RAM 5 has 1 short row of pins.

Background Adapter:
Remove the 2 eproms. The adapter plugs into BG0.

Foreground Adapter:
Remove the 4 eproms. The adapter plugs into all the sockets. It can only go one way. Press it in evenly, it can tip towards one corner if you are not careful.





QBERT SOUND BOARD:
Remove the 2 eproms. Remove the cpu, and install the cpu into the sound adapter. Install the sound adapter into the socket you removed the cpu from.

TroubleShooting:
Make sure you have all the boards plugged in evenly and correctly. It is real easy to get them off by a pin or 2.
If you get garbage or nothing check the main adapter.
If you get the pyramid ok but not the game names or qbert check the Foreground adapter.
If the pryamid is bad chack the background adapter.
